Pediatric Dentistry

In general, the pediatric dental field is much more specialized than other dental specialties. Pediatric dentistry is completely different from the specialty of orthodontics. An orthodontist gives braces to people who have a problem with their bite or facial development (commonly called “orthodontic problems”). Unlike pediatric dentists, orthodontists specialize in repairing teeth movement; something that pediatric dentists do not deal with.

A pediatric dentist has been specially trained on how to take care of pediatric patients (children). A pediatric dentist knows how to work with little kids, and sees that as part of their daily practice. Pediatric dentists have specialized training on infants, toddlers, and pre-teens.
